{"id":8606,"date":"2025-09-11T09:58:47","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T09:58:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bradfordandcookburyparishcouncil.gov.uk\/?p=8606"},"modified":"2025-09-11T10:56:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T10:56:00","slug":"okehampton-hospital-health-service-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bradfordandcookburyparishcouncil.gov.uk\/?p=8606","title":{"rendered":"Okehampton Hospital &#8211; Health Service Survey"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Okehampton Community Hospital hosts over 40 clinics and specialisms, even though its wards and GP practice were closed in 2016.\u00a0<strong>But not enough people know that this facility is there for us.\u00a0<\/strong>At a time of great pressure on the NHS, we believe that Okehampton and its surrounding area should use this facility more.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This\u00a0short survey\u00a0will help us\u00a0find out whether residents are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aware of the hospital.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the hospital when applicable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Would use the hospital as an alternative to RDE\/\u00a0Derriford, if\u00a0possible. \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Community Hospital was\u00a0built in 2004, (with \u00a3250,000 locally raised funds) and serves\u00a0around\u00a042,000 people\u00a0who live\u00a0within 15 miles of the town. Initially the Community Hospital had a state-of-the-art Maternity Unit with a Birthing Pool, a Physiotherapy Department, X Ray Unit, a Dialysis Unit, Podiatry, several other clinics including 24\/7 MIU and over 30 inpatient beds in 2 wards.\u00a0Over the years we have lost the wards and\u00a0several of the services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We want to improve health\u00a0service provision in Okehampton and the surrounding area, which is getting\u00a0less than its fair share of NHS Devon\u2019s\u00a0resources.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, we need to give\u00a0hard evidence to the NHS of\u00a0what is needed.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please complete a short survey using the link below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.cloud.microsoft\/r\/Ybk1mtqZy9\">Okehampton Hospital &#8211;
